I'm a Montreal-based filmmaker and screenwriter who seeks the human story in every project. A Canadian Film Centre Directors Lab graduate with a BFA and MFA from Concordia University where I now teach, I've spent my career moving from the spectacular to the intimate.
My 13-year collaboration with Cirque du Soleil launched this journey, directing award-winning documentaries that captured impossible artistry. All Together Now, chronicling the creation of LOVE with the remaining Beatles, won me a Grammy Award, a Gémeaux Award, and a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I continued with In the Hands of Michel Tremblay (Gémeaux winner), Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour (Gémeaux nominee), and cinematic adaptations of Luzia and Avatar: Toruk The First Flight. I followed Cirque founder Guy Laliberté to the International Space Station for Touch the Sky, distilling 400 hours of footage into a story that captured astronauts, cosmonauts, and U2's historic broadcast from space. My documentaries have taken me across Russia, Japan, USA and Europe, and I've worked with prestigious partners including James Cameron's Lightstorm and NASA.
I transitioned into narrative work with thrillers Crisis Point and The Surrogacy Trap (#3 ranked on premiere weekend), discovering how emotional authenticity elevates genre storytelling. Both thrillers now play worldwide on Amazon Prime. This led to co-creating, executive producing, and directing 21 Thunder, a CBC/Netflix Original sports drama merging documentary realism with compelling fiction.
Then I turned the camera inward. A Quiet Girl follows my Newfoundland adoption journey with no script, no predetermined outcome, only raw discovery. The film earned a DGC Allan King Award nomination and became one of the National Film Board of Canada's most-viewed films of 2024. I continued this intimate approach with Leonard Cohen: If It Be Your Will (CBC, SBS), winner of the 2025 Banff Rockie Award: Rogers Prize for Excellence in Canadian Content.
Whether directing true-crime for Crave and Investigation Discovery (Broken Trust, Somebody's Hiding Something, Deadly Secrets) or premium nonfiction for CBC, Radio-Canada, and ZDF, I bring the same approach: find the human connection first.
A two-time Gémeaux winner with three additional nominations, I maintain active memberships in the Directors Guild of Canada and ARRQ while mentoring emerging filmmakers through Quebec's SODEC intensive short film script competition and serving as a CALQ jury member. My work reaches global audiences on CBC, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Showtime, NBC Peacock, SBS Australia, ZDF Germany, ARTE France, Travel Channel USA, Lifetime USA, and Radio-Canada and is showcased at prestigious festivals globally.
Through every project, I continue to explore the profound connections that bind us together through the power of storytelling.
